STEM Field Day
The students had to construct a chair for a stuffed bear that would support its weight. They did a FABULOUS job in communicating their ideas to each other! We really missed our two girls who were absent today!
The students had to construct a vision board that would explain what they wanted to accomplish in the future.
They learned about agriculture, different plants, and science at the Beavers Dairy in Carlton as well as in Hawaii and Alaska.
They made slime by creating a solution. The presenter explained the difference between a mixture and a solution.
We grew bacteria in a warm environment at school and then took our petri dishes to this station. The presenter explained the different kinds of bacteria as well as how some bacteria actually help us to stay healthy.
One of their favorite stations was the Indi Cars! They learned a bit about coding and how to make their cars turn by using different colored squares.
We were able to see different science experiments by a scientist from Florida! Professor Sko was highly engaging and explained the experiments so that the children could understand what was happening.
There were a lot of students at the Ag Hall today! We saw friends from Fillmore Central as well as Exeter - Milligan School. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with the Extension Agency personnel! They did a wonderful job in organizing this event!
